Dark Shadows is an upcoming film adaptation of the Gothic soap opera that aired weekdays on the ABC television network, from June 27, 1966 to April 2, 1971. The show was created by Dan Curtis, who was inspired by a dream he had in which a dark-haired girl takes a long train ride to visit a large mansion. It was unprecedented in daytime television when supernatural elements were introduced about six months after it began.

Plot 

A gothic-horror tale centering on the life of vampire Barnabas Collins and his run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts. Based on the popular "Dark Shadows" TV series.
