Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is an upcoming film directed by Tomas Alfredson, from a screenplay by Bridget O'Connor and Peter Straughan based on the 1974 novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by John le Carré. The film will star Gary Oldman as George Smiley, and co-star Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Ciarán Hinds and Benedict Cumberbatch. It was produced through the British company Working Title Films and financed by France's StudioCanal.
Plot
George Smiley comes out of semi-retirement to uncover a Russian agent. The film will be set in the 1970s.
