Shame is an erotic drama film co-written and directed by Steve McQueen. The film stars Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. (Fassbender also appeared in McQueen's directorial debut film Hunger.) Shame was developed by See-Saw Films with Film4, who are co-financing this film. Fox Searchlight Pictures paid around $400,000 to acquire the United States distribution rights of Shame, and they will release this film in the United States theatrically in 2011.
Plot
Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a 30-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life. After his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment, Brandon’s world spirals out of control.
